2016 Nissan Altima vs. 2016 Kia Optima Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Nissan Altima offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Kia Optima with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Nissan Altima and the Kia Optima in the front seats.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Nissan Altima as you will with the Kia Optima, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Nissan Altima is somewhat more expensive than the Kia Optima. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Nissan Altima and the Kia Optima have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Nissan Altima is a little narrower than the Kia Optima, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. When looking at overall length, the Nissan Altima takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Kia Optima.

Drivetrain
Due to its much higher torque, the engine of the Nissan Altima does a much better job of transmitting power to the wheels than the Kia Optima.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Nissan Altima has a much more powerful engine than the Kia Optima. However, something you should consider is that higher horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Nissan Altima and the Kia Optima. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries into the Nissan Altima as you will in the Kia Optima.

Warranty
The basic warranty of the Nissan Altima is not as nearly as extensive as that of the Kia Optima.
